Scouts and Girlguiding from across York joined together to celebrate St George, the patron saint of Scouts.
Over 1500 Scouts & GirlGuiding members of all ages joined together in York for services in York Minster and Central Methodist Church, and paraded through the city in a wonderful show of community spirit. In the Minster we reflected on the theme of what “service” means to us, and even had the Civic Party leading us in the actions to a campfire song “Alive, Alert, Awake”. There was a great fun atmosphere during the day, and Paddington Bear joined us too.
We would like to thank all took part, everyone who helped to make it happen, and the people of York for coming out in force to show their support for Scouting & GirlGuiding in the City.
