Over 50 people joined our conversations to meet the leadership team in charge of York Scout Activity Centre at Snowball Plantation, and shape plans for the future. Our District Lead Volunteer Nigel White thanked all the volunteers who had developed the site from scrubland over 50 years ago, to what we have today, which we can now build on. Tony Hale was presented with a “Never Give Up” necker on behalf of the previous Management Team. Our new Team Leader Dan Dawson provided an overview of work already underway, and captured questions and suggestions from attendees. Andy Thirlwell is building a team to help maintain the site. Martin Eason is leading on development, fundraising, and drawing in external users and support. Scott Swinton is leading on revamping activity provision. Nathan Bargate is developing new digital services and support. The team are also looking for a Customer Experience Team Leader to develop our customer service, and we are expanding the team of Wardens to look after users onsite. There was great positive energy in the room whilst people got chatting over tea and biscuits. The team still want to hear from people who want to help in some way or provide further suggestions. There are QR codes at the end of the presentation pack below to feed these in.
