The brand-new City of York District Necker design has been approved, and will be available from September 2026.
This new necker has been developed as part of a Youth Team Project and was shaped by our young people themselves. It represents a fresh, colourful identity for our new District. The design includes York’s Coat of Arms with the Lord Mayor proud to reaffirm support for York Scouts. A gold stripe represents our City’s Roman and Viking heritage, and the dark blue is also a colour with historical links to York and Yorkshire.
All Explorers and Explorer Leaders are required to wear the District Necker, and it is additionally open to all District Team volunteers to wear. The first batch will be funded for each Explorer Unit and some District Team roles, with any additional neckers available to buy through our District Online Shop.
All existing Ebor and Minster District Neckers and badges should be phased out or replaced either when members transition to their next section, or by the end of 2026.
