Engineering Challenge 2026

Engineering themed event for York Scouts and Girlguides, counting towards various badges.  This year’s challenge will involve completing a number of bases, so will be varied and engaging, whilst learning from students’ expert guidance.  Each Unit can enter a team, and perhaps a second team if we have capacity.  We would prefer each Scout Group or Girlguide Unit to send a leader, who will be invited to join an adults team.  The University Students will plan and run the event, so you can just turn up and join in.  Each participant needs to complete a parent consent form.

The event will be on Saturday 28 March 2026 from 10am to 3pm at the Exhibition Centre, University of York. Scouts and Girlguides wanting to enter will need to be in a team of 3 to 5 people (maximum 30 teams).   Teams may be grouped together differently on the day to go round the various bases.  There is less of a competitive element this year.

Register by 28 February 2026 to have one or two teams, with nigel.white@nys.org.uk.  Specific names of team members can be provided later.
