There’s something special about food you’ve cooked over a fire you lit yourself and the young people of 2nd Acomb now know it firsthand.
The Group held their very first Backwoods Cookoff, and it was a real success. Working in teams, the young people gathered their ingredients, built and lit their own fires from scratch, and cooked up some genuinely impressive food over the flames – no mean feat, and a brilliant set of skills to take away.
A huge well done to everyone who took part, and to the leaders who made it happen. On the strength of this first outing, it surely won’t be the last.
