Description
Our District Youth Team have designed a fabulous new necker for City of York District. This is to be worn by all our Explorer Units, and may also be worn by volunteers in a District Team role. Only members of City of York District Scouts can wear the necker, though others may keep it as a souvenir.
An initial batch is being provided to each Explorer Unit ready for September 2026. Additional neckers can be ordered by their Scout Group. Members of our District Teams and Scout Network can also buy the District necker. We ask that teams do not bulk order excessive volumes, so that we can help other Groups to not run short.
The design includes York’s Coat of Arms with the Lord Mayor proud to affirm support for York Scouts. A gold stripe represents our City’s Roman and Viking heritage, and the dark blue is also a colour with historical links to York and Yorkshire.
We would like all Units to stop wearing Ebor and Minster District neckers by the end of 2026.
