Over the weekend of 1st–3rd May, a fantastic group indoor camp took place at Aldwark Activity Centre. With 35 participants from Beavers to Explorers, it was the best turnout the camp has seen – and several of the 12 volunteers were recent recruits. It was wonderful to see so many people getting stuck into the Scouts experience.
The camp was a real success, with all the young people showing great fearlessness, determination and excitement across every activity on offer over the weekend.
A big thank you goes to all the Scouts in attendance, who generously gave the Beavers rides on paddleboards, lent a hand on the traversing wall and helped run some fun games.
Holly Osbourne, Beaver Section Team Leader at 2nd St Thomas, called it a proper “this is why we do it” weekend, thanks to the enthusiasm and kindness shown by everyone who took part.
Here’s hoping next year brings another record turnout for 2nd St Thomas at their Aldwark indoor camp – it sounds a fantastic event to be part of.
