50 Explorer Scouts from York are getting ready for the 2026 Danish Jamboree. The contingent have come from a number of York Groups so have been spending time getting to know each other. One of the Explorers, Max Moody, provided a summary of how they have been preparing for camping with 35,000 other Scouts July 2026.

“They initially met in a Monopoly-style Race across York. This involved teamwork to reach as many points as possible with their team. After two training camps they have now been put into teams, and completed various team-building challenges and skills development. They have also had a fun trip to the bowling alley. The team challenges included planning for and making a Danish meal, tested and judged by the leaders. They are also learning Danish games and organising camp life to mirror their highly anticipated summer adventure.”

They should be well prepared for their trip, so they can make the most out of this life-changing experience. They have been raising money to subsidise their trip, and you can help by buying a special Contingent Badge for £2 from one of the Explorers, or contact our District Youth Lead, Rowan Ward.
