SUMMARY:Escape 2026
DESCRIPTION:Escape is a wide game competition where teams of Explorers have 24 hours to navigate across countryside to a number of bases\, without being ‘caught’ by adult Catcher Teams.  The event is popular and has been running since 2013 and is likely to get booked up quickly. \nEscape is organised by our Events Delivery Team.  You can contact the team on escape@nys.org.uk.

SUMMARY:Archery Instructor Course
DESCRIPTION:Opportunity to gain a qualification to run Archery sessions in Scouts. This is part of revamping and enhancing activity provision at York Scout Activity Centre\, so we would like volunteers from York Scouts to join our pool of instructors.  In return City of York Scouts will cover costs of the course\, and you will be able to use our facilities and equipment at Snowball Plantation for future activities. \nYou need to attend both days 09:00-17:00. Archery Training and Assessment Nov 2026 \nThere is only capacity for 12 places which we would like to allocate fairly.  Let Scott Swinton know if would like to be on the course.  Any unused places will be offered to other Districts for a fee.  Thanks.

SUMMARY:Carol Service 2026
DESCRIPTION:Candlelit service in the Grade I listed Holy Trinity Church\, Goodramgate. The invitation is to all Scouting and Girlguiding Leaders\, members\, and supporters in City of York District Scouts and the Girlguiding County of North Yorkshire South.  Family members are welcome. \nThe wonderful medieval\, atmospheric Church (now under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust) has no electricity and is unheated\, so come dressed appropriately and bring a torch or head torch to read the service sheet.  Following the service anyone interested can join us for a Christmas drink.
